What is Baby Pap
Baby pap is a specially made, grain-based food for introducing foods to babies, typically around 4-6 months old and above.

It is usually ground up very fine and easy to swallow, often made from sorghum, corn or a mix of grains. It can be mixed with breast milk, formula, or water to create a thin mush.

Ingredients For Making Baby Pap

Pap Akamu ingredients |
1kg yellow corn
1 kg millet
1 kg Guinea corn/Sorghum
500g soyabean
500g dates
1 cup of fresh groundnut(or roasted)
Procedure For Making Baby Pap
1. Pick all the dirts from all the grains
2.Soak your grains for 2days, inorder to allow it to ferment(without soyabeans)
Change the water daily to prevent it from having bad odour
3. On the day you want to grind
Soak your soybeans with hot water,to remove the hull
4. After you have dehull the soybeans, add it to your fermented and rinsed grains (millet maize etc)
5. Add your roasted groundnut or cashewnuts and the dates to your grains combo(soyabeans and millet etc)
6.Then take it to the industrial milling machine for milling.
7. Sieve the grinded mixture with a sieve cloth.
8. Leave for 2 hours for the water to settle. Drain the clear water and put the thick pap mixture inside a sieve cloth overnight while you allow the water to drain completely by preventing it from going sour by the day or you refrigerate immediately after milling
9. Store in airtight container in the refrigerator.
